As part of the activities surrounding Germany's EU Council presidency, top representatives of the BUSINESSEUROPE association paid a visit to the German capital, Berlin. BUSINESSEUROPE is the Union of Industrial and Employers' Confederations of Europe. Upon invitation by Jürgen R. Thumann, President of the Federation of German Industry (BDI), the members of the delegation came to the EU Panorama in front of the Paul Löbe House to learn about the “Germany – Land of Ideas” nation-branding initiative.


The 22 European business representatives were treated to a multifaceted itinerary, including a meeting with Federal President Horst Köhler and a welcome reception with German chancellor Angela Merkel in her capacity as President of the European Council.
