Under the brand “Research in Germany – Land of Ideas” Germany presents itself as a research location internationally.
In our globalised world, scientific and technological advancements are not only made within national borders, but above all in cooperation and exchange with partners around the world. As a result, we aim to publicise that Germany is an outstanding location for science, development, and research and seek to strengthen international cooperation.
Funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), German research organisations have implemented communications measures and events worldwide since 2006 with the aim of enhancing Germany’s visibility around the globe. The joint brand under which these activities are organised is “Research in Germany – Land of Ideas”. It puts the different measures abroad in a uniform framework and gives them high recognition value.
In addition to numerous events and publications, the central online platform Research in Germany provides information about Germany as a research location. On the platform, international scientists, journalists, and representatives from politics and business can find an overview of the German research and education landscape and find out what is new in the world of science. Furthermore, the website informs non-German scientists about promotion and career possibilities in Germany and supports them as they prepare for a research stay.
