"Ideen für die Bildungsrepublik" ("Ideas for the Federal Republic of Learning" ) is a nationwide competition, looking for the best ideas for education. Awards go to projects, initiatives and institutions upholding the precept of fair and just allocation of educational resources. "Ideen für die Bildungsrepublik is sponsored by the Ministry of Education and Research and Vodafone Stiftung Deutschland.    

Since 2008, universities, top research institutes and the Deutscher akademischer Ausstauschdienst (DAAD) have been working together and making representations abroad to attract foreign research scientists and students with their "Study in Germany" and "Research in Germany – Land of Ideas" publicity campaigns. The "TectoYou" project works with Deutsche Messe AG to promote the image of technological professions among young people.
