africaXchanger - Young Leaders Hub Berlin
Future-oriented innovations, inspiring solutions, and an up-and-coming start-up scene: Africa is a continent of ideas! Under the title “africaXchanger” “Germany – Land of Ideas” presented young entrepreneurs and their success stories within the framework of Young Leaders Hub Berlin.
The event, organised in cooperation with the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and initiated and curated by culture manager Dr. Stefanie Rau-Gerdts, builds a bridge between Germany and the African continent.
For Africa has great potential. The continent not only has abundant resources and a growing middle-class, but also an increasing number of young, well-educated people who are entering the international arena with remarkable entrepreneurial spirit and innovative prowess.
“africaXchanger – Young Leaders Hub Berlin“ offers these exciting innovators and trendsetters a stage. Five young leaders from the energy, agriculture, and technology sectors presented their exemplary success stories. On this stage, they met with German counterparts and shed led on the similarities, differences, and challenges of their respective working and living worlds. The aim of the event was to promote transnational dialogue, to strength the German-African network, and to show future perspectives for economic cooperation.
Among the African speakers at the event from the energy sector were Dr. Amy Jadesimi (LADOL Limitless Opportunities-Industries) and Jasandra Nyker (BioTherm Energy). Start-ups and alternative financing models was the expertise of William Edem Senyo (Impact Hub Accra). The nutrition sector was represented by Swaady Martin (The Swaady Group und YSWARA).
The “africaXchanger” took place on 12 June in the Commerzbank building in Berlin in front of an invited audience, and was shown in parallel in a live-stream broadcast on the initiative’s public Facebook channel.
